Steps to Transfer

Our goal is to make your transfer experience as seamless as possible. We'll provide you with the necessary tools and guidance at every stage of the process.
  1. Get Prepared

Before transferring to a four-year university, meet with a program advisor. They will confirm your major and identify transfer plans and course sequences for the university you intend to transfer to. Get assistance exploring transfer pathways and accessing career services resources.

  2. Get Informed

Research and identify universities that align with your goals. Schedule meetings with program advisors to discuss admission requirements, transferable coursework, and scholarships. Determine the best fit for your major, interests, needs, and budget. Finally, utilize virtual tours to get a feel for the campus environment.

  3. Get Admitted

Visit transfer institutions' websites to understand application processes and deadlines. Submit admission applications and required documents (transcripts, test scores, essays, letters of recommendation). Pay application fees or get fees waived if eligible.

  4. Get Enrolled

Monitor your email and the admissions portal for correspondence from universities regarding admission status and next steps. Meet with a university advisor to review transfer courses, transfer GPA, and plan future courses. Attend transfer orientation and register for classes.

  5. Get Help

Apply for financial aid, scholarships, veteran's benefits, and accessibility services if applicable. Explore on-campus resources such as housing, student activities, tutoring, and career services to enhance your college experience. Taking advantage of the available financial resources can help you ensure a successful transfer experience.
